Roof styles
Three Rooflines. One Right Answer For Your Weather.
Roof style is the decision that changes how the building ages. Here is what each one costs you and what it buys you.
Side by side
Regular, A-frame, vertical
Regular
Lowest Price
Horizontal panels and rounded corners. It is the cheapest roof we sell and it sheds rain fine on shorter buildings, but water and debris travel across the panel seams rather than straight off.
Best for
Dry climates, short buildings, tight budgets
A-Frame horizontal
Similar to Regular Styles Price
A boxed eave and a peaked ridge, with panels still running horizontally. It looks like a residential roof and handles rain better than regular, but it is not the answer for heavy snow.
Best for
Curb appeal next to a house, moderate weather
Vertical
Highest End
Hat channel under panels that run down the slope, so water, leaves, and snow leave the roof instead of sitting on it. This is the right call almost everywhere and it is required on longer buildings.
Best for
Snow, heavy rain, long buildings, anything you plan to keep
The warranty rule people miss
Length changes the requirement
Buildings 31 ft or longer must have a vertical roof to keep the 20-year painted panel coverage. A regular (arch) or boxed eave roof at that length carries a 30-day workmanship warranty only.
20 years on painted sheet metal against peeling, cracking, blistering, flaking, splitting or delamination, conditional on normal care including clearing debris and cleaning every 6 months.
Alteration by anyone other than a Seller-approved subcontractor voids all warranties, and Eagle is not liable for damage from inclement weather. Eagle repairs or replaces at its option.

Vertical, unless budget forces otherwise and you are in a dry climate with a short building. Panels running down the slope shed water and snow instead of trapping them at the seams, which is what actually determines how long the roof lasts.

Ratings are engineered to your area and depend on proper anchoring, not on roof style alone. That said, vertical roofs with hat channel add bracing that helps on exposed sites.
No. The roof structure is part of the frame. Choose it at order time, because changing it later means replacing the building.
